As a long-time fan of Minesweeper, I was thrilled to discover Minesweeper Classic! for iOS. This app brings back nostalgic memories of playing the classic game on my old Windows PC, while also introducing modern features that make it an even more enjoyable experience.

One of the things that sets this app apart is its ability to offer both vintage and modern themes. The classic theme takes me back to the good old days, while the modern theme gives the game a fresh new look. Overall, I'm impressed with how well-executed the app is as a casual title.

If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be to include a beginner's setting that starts players off with a larger area to work from. This would make it easier for newcomers to get started and understand the game mechanics. However, this is just a minor quibble, and overall, I'm thoroughly enjoying the app.

I do have one pet peeve, though: when you click on your first square, the game doesn't automatically open up an area for you to start with, unlike some other versions of Minesweeper that I've played. This can make it a bit tricky to get started, especially for new players.

On a related note, my daughter has recently become interested in playing Minesweeper, and she's found the hardest part to be starting the game. To help her out, I've been using Google Minesweeper, which starts you off with a larger area to work from. However, this app is still my go-to choice for its classic feel and challenging gameplay.

One issue that I did encounter when I upgraded to an iPhone 12 was that the origin point of the zoom feature seems to be fixed near the middle of the screen, making it difficult to play as smoothly as before. On my old iPhone 7, I could zoom in on a specific area by pinching the screen, but with the new phone, this doesn't seem to work as seamlessly.

Despite this minor issue, I'm still thoroughly enjoying Minesweeper Classic! for iOS. The game has good controls, great themes, and an overall user-friendly interface that makes it easy to get started and play.
